My Story: Crafting My Own World

The Spark Behind the Stitches
Every piece of art starts somewhere, and for me, it began during a time when I was really struggling to navigate school. Being autistic made socializing a massive challenge; I felt completely alone and faced a lot of bullying. I desperately needed an outlet—something grounding and tactile where I could just focus and pour my energy into creating.
That’s when I picked up a needle and thread and fell headfirst into the world of sewing. There was something incredibly grounding about creating things with my own two hands. But the real magic happened when I moved from basic sewing construction to the intricate world of embroidery.
Growing the Craft
My journey into textile art actually started with a background in 2D art, but everything changed when my grandma taught me how to sew when I was just six years old and bought me my first sewing machine. That foundational knowledge stayed with me. Throughout the rest of school, I constantly carried fabric, a needle, and thread with me, hand-embroidering patches all day long—eventually making a custom jacket just to showcase them.
After four years of dedicated hand embroidery, my senior year of high school brought a massive turning point. I took a class that briefly had an embroidery machine. While others were just learning the basics, I spent the entire time tinkering with it. Thanks to the deep sewing machine knowledge my grandma had given me, I was even able to get my teacher out of some crazy machine jams! That was the exact moment I knew I aspired to get an embroidery machine of my own, pushing me to transition from thousands of hand-stitches to mastering complex, high-detail digital digitizing.
Turning Passion into Delphiniumz
As my desk began to overflow with custom patches and textured art, my parents saw how much passion I was pouring into the craft. They became my biggest cheerleaders, constantly encouraging me to take the leap and share my work with the world as a real business. Thanks to their push, Delphiniumz was born.
The Birth Flower Series: A Collaboration
I wanted my first major launch to be something deeply personal and collaborative. That’s how the Birth Flower Series came to life. Rather than just designing in a vacuum, I wanted to build this library of custom embroidery art with you.
By blending historical symbolism—like the strength of August's gladiolus sword motif—with your real-time input on color palettes and aesthetics, each patch becomes a shared piece of art.
Thank you for being part of this journey, voting on the designs, and helping me build this collection from the ground up. I can't wait to see which flower we bring to life next!
